What types of shipping containers do you sell?

Steel Box Containers PTY LTD supplies new and used shipping containers, standard and high-cube units, side-opening and tunnel containers, refrigerated containers, flat racks, portable cabins, site offices, workshops, container pools and modified container solutions across Australia.

What is a high cube container?

A high cube container is approximately 300 millimetres taller than a standard container, providing additional internal height for bulky product, machinery, shelving, workshop conversions and container-building projects.

Do you sell cabins and site offices?

Yes. We supply portable cabins, container offices, lunchrooms, workshops, welfare units and other portable workspace solutions for construction, agriculture, events and commercial projects.

Can containers be used on construction sites?

Yes. Containers can provide secure storage for tools, machinery, materials, personal protective equipment and site supplies. Site offices and modified workspaces may also be suitable, subject to access and workplace requirements.

How much is shipping?

Our flat shipping charge is A$650 including GST for standard shipping container delivery arranged by Steel Box Containers PTY LTD across Australia. The A$650 fee is shown before payment on the quotation, checkout page, invoice or order confirmation.

Can the container be placed exactly where I want it?

Placement depends on vehicle access, ground conditions, safety, overhead clearance and unloading equipment. The driver may refuse an unsafe placement and unload at the nearest safe position.

Can I receive an invoice?

Yes. Steel Box Containers PTY LTD provides an invoice, receipt, tax invoice or written order confirmation showing the seller details, ABN, product description, delivery information, GST treatment, total price, payment amount and order reference.

Can modified containers be returned?

Customised, personalised or made-to-order containers are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns. This does not limit rights that apply when goods are faulty, unsafe, materially different from the agreed specification or otherwise covered by Australian Consumer Law.

What container sizes are available?

Common sizes include 8ft, 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers. The range also includes 30ft, 45ft, 53ft and specialist units where those sizes are listed in the product range.

What is a side-opening container?

A side-opening container has cargo doors along one side, allowing wider access for pallets, machinery, building materials, retail product and other bulky goods.

Can I order a modified container?

Yes. Modifications include personnel doors, windows, roller shutters, insulation, ventilation, lighting, electrical fit-outs, shelving, partitions, flooring, security upgrades and custom paint. Specifications, pricing and completion requirements are confirmed in writing before work begins.

Are containers suitable for farms?

Yes. Australian farms use containers for tools, parts, machinery, fencing materials and general supplies. Hazardous chemicals, fuels and regulated goods must only be stored in lawful and appropriately designed facilities.

What information is required for delivery?

Provide your full name, telephone number, email address, complete Australian delivery address, postcode, preferred delivery date and detailed access information. Tell us about narrow roads, gates, slopes, soft ground, trees, bridges, overhead powerlines and underground services.

What happens if access is unsuitable?

If delivery cannot be completed because the site information was materially inaccurate, access is unsafe or the placement area is unprepared, the delivery may need to be rescheduled after the issue is corrected. Any separate rescheduling service or cost must be disclosed and accepted in writing before a new delivery is booked.

Are all prices in Australian dollars?

Yes. Website prices, quotations, invoices and shipping charges are stated in Australian dollars. Consumer prices include GST where applicable. Review the full order total, including the A$650 flat shipping charge, before payment.

Do used containers have cosmetic marks?

Used containers can show dents, scratches, faded paint, patches, previous labels, repairs or surface corrosion. Any cosmetic wear should be consistent with the advertised grade and description and must not make the container unsafe or materially different from what was agreed.

Do you sell both new and used containers?

Yes. New or one-trip containers generally have minimal previous use and a cleaner appearance. Used containers are a cost-effective option for storage, worksites, farms and commercial operations, but may show normal cosmetic wear.

What is a tunnel container?

A tunnel container has cargo doors at both ends. This improves access, supports product rotation and can make it easier to divide the internal space into separate storage areas.

Do you supply container pools?

Container pools and custom pool conversions are offered as specialist projects. Customers are responsible for checking local council approval, engineering, fencing, electrical, plumbing and building requirements before installation.

Do you deliver across Australia?

Yes. Steel Box Containers PTY LTD arranges shipping container delivery across Australia. Customers must provide accurate delivery-address and site-access information so transport and unloading can be completed safely.

What ground preparation is required?

The placement area should be firm, level, stable and accessible to the delivery vehicle. Suitable foundations may include concrete pads, engineered footings, compacted road base, treated sleepers or approved blocks.

What payment methods do you accept?

Steel Box Containers PTY LTD accepts Bank Transfer and Osko. Credit card payments are currently unavailable. Customers should use only the verified payment instructions shown on an authorised quotation or invoice and should confirm any unexpected change to payment details before transferring funds.

What is your return policy?

Eligible voluntary return requests must be made within 30 days of delivery. Customers must contact Steel Box Containers PTY LTD before moving or returning a product. Consumer-guarantee claims are not limited to 30 days and are assessed under the Australian Consumer Law.

Can I choose the colour?

A specific colour or repainting requirement must be included in the quotation or order confirmation before purchase. Any repainting service and price must be agreed in writing before work begins.

Are used containers wind and watertight?

Wind-and-watertight containers are intended for general storage and protection from normal wind and rain exposure. Used units can show cosmetic wear consistent with the stated grade, but the supplied container must match the agreed description and applicable consumer guarantees.

Do you sell refrigerated containers?

Yes. Refrigerated or reefer containers are supplied for chilled, frozen or insulated storage. The quotation should state whether the unit is operating or non-operating, together with the electrical requirements, operating range, condition and intended use.

Can containers be used for home storage?

Yes. Containers are commonly used for furniture, renovation materials, garden equipment, tools and household storage. Ventilation, moisture control and a stable raised base are recommended, especially in humid or coastal areas.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery is normally completed within 5–7 days after cleared payment, order confirmation and receipt of the complete delivery address and site-access details. If severe weather, road closures or another event outside reasonable control causes a delay, the customer will be informed and a revised delivery date arranged.

Do I need council approval?

Approval requirements vary between Australian states, territories and local councils. They may depend on zoning, intended use, duration, size, modifications and connected services. Customers should check with their local council, private certifier or relevant authority.

Do I need to pay before delivery?

Yes. Unless a written agreement states otherwise, full cleared payment is required before modification work begins or the container is dispatched and delivered.

How long do refunds take?

Approved refunds are processed within a maximum of 14 business days after written approval and completion of any reasonably required return, collection or verification. The customer’s financial institution may require additional time to display the funds.
