1. Delivery Coverage

agricultural, construction, commercial and industrial locations in
Australia, subject to current delivery coverage, transport availability,
safe site access and confirmation in the customer’s quotation or order
documentation.
Products arranged for delivery can include new shipping containers,
used shipping containers, storage containers, high-cube containers,
side-opening containers, refrigerated containers, portable cabins,
site offices and modified container solutions, as specified in the
customer’s quotation or order confirmation.
Delivery may be arranged to homes, farms, workshops, construction
sites, warehouses, retail premises, industrial locations, schools,
event sites and other suitable locations where transport and unloading
can be completed safely.
2. Standard Shipping and Delivery Timeframe
For eligible standard deliveries, the normal delivery timeframe is
5–7 days after cleared payment and full confirmation of
the order and delivery requirements, unless a different timeframe is
stated in your quotation, invoice, order confirmation or written agreement.
An order is considered fully confirmed when:
- The shipping container has been selected.
- The container size and condition have been confirmed.
- Complete customer information has been provided.
- The delivery address and postcode have been confirmed.
- Site-access information has been provided.
- Payment has been received or approved.
- Any special delivery requirements have been agreed.
01
Order Confirmation
The container type, size, condition, quantity, customer details
and delivery location are confirmed.
02
Payment Confirmation
Payment is received or approved before the container is released
for delivery scheduling.
03
Delivery Scheduling
Suitable transport is arranged according to the container size,
delivery postcode and site-access requirements.
04
Container Delivery
The container is delivered within the agreed timeframe. For eligible
standard deliveries, this is normally within 5–7 days.
3. Standard Shipping Fee
Steel Box Containers applies a standard shipping fee of
A$650 including GST for eligible standard container
deliveries arranged by the business.
The A$650 standard shipping fee is disclosed before payment. Where a
delivery requires specialist transport, additional handling, unusual
access arrangements, or falls outside standard delivery conditions, any
different or additional delivery charge must be disclosed and agreed
before payment or before the affected delivery service is confirmed.
Important
The applicable delivery charge, including GST where applicable, will
be shown in your quotation, invoice or order confirmation before the
order is finalised.
4. When Standard Delivery Terms May Not Apply
The standard A$650 delivery fee and normal 5–7 day timeframe apply only
where the delivery qualifies as a standard delivery and can be completed
using the expected transport and unloading arrangements.
Different delivery terms may be required where, for example:
- Specialist or oversized transport is required.
- The delivery location requires unusual access or unloading arrangements.
- Remote-area or non-standard transport arrangements are needed.
- Site conditions require additional equipment or handling.
- The customer requests a service outside the standard delivery arrangement.
Any different charge or timeframe must be disclosed to the customer before
payment for that service or before the affected delivery arrangement is
confirmed.
5. Delivery Site Requirements
Shipping containers are large and heavy products. Customers must
ensure that the proposed delivery location is accessible, suitable
and prepared before the delivery vehicle arrives.
Clear Vehicle Access
The delivery vehicle must have sufficient space to enter the
property, turn, reverse, unload and leave the site safely.
Firm and Level Ground
The container-placement area should be firm, stable and level to
support the container and allow its doors to operate correctly.
Overhead Clearance
Customers must check for powerlines, trees, roofs, cables, gates
and other overhead obstacles that could interfere with unloading.
Safe Placement Area
The final placement location must be identified and cleared of
vehicles, equipment, materials and other obstructions.
Suitable Road Access
Roads, driveways, bridges, gates and access points must be
suitable for the size and weight of the delivery vehicle.
Weather and Ground Conditions
Wet, soft, muddy, sandy or unstable ground may prevent the driver
from safely entering or unloading at the property.
6. Customer Delivery Responsibilities
Customers must provide complete and accurate delivery information
before the order is scheduled. This information enables us to select
suitable transport and assess whether the delivery can be completed
safely.
Customers must provide:
- The complete delivery address and postcode.
- The customer’s name, email address and telephone number.
- The preferred delivery date where applicable.
- Details of gates, access roads, turns, slopes and narrow areas.
- Information about trees, powerlines and overhead obstacles.
- Details about soft, wet, uneven or unstable ground.
- The preferred direction of the container doors.
- Any special unloading or positioning instructions.
- Site photographs where requested.
- Confirmation that the placement area is ready.
Customers are responsible for checking and obtaining any property
approvals, landlord permissions, council approvals or permits that may
be required for the placement and use of the container at their location.
7. Delivery Access Assessment
Steel Box Containers may request photographs, measurements,
videos or other information about the proposed delivery site before
scheduling delivery.
Any assessment based on photographs, measurements or information
supplied by the customer is preliminary. The delivery driver retains
final responsibility for deciding whether access and unloading can be
completed safely when arriving at the location.
The driver may refuse to enter or unload at a location where doing so
could create a risk to people, property, equipment, the container or
the delivery vehicle.
8. Delivery Delays
For eligible standard deliveries, Steel Box Containers normally aims
to complete delivery within 5–7 days after the order is ready for
scheduling. Delays may occur because of circumstances that affect
transport availability, scheduling or safe delivery.
Possible causes of delay include:
- Severe weather or unsafe ground conditions.
- Flooding, storms, bushfires or other emergencies.
- Road closures, traffic disruption or transport restrictions.
- Delivery-vehicle breakdowns or equipment problems.
- Incorrect or incomplete customer information.
- Restricted or unsafe site access.
- Changes requested by the customer.
- Events outside our reasonable control.
If a delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to inform the
customer and arrange the earliest suitable alternative delivery date.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits any remedy or right available
to a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Failed Delivery and Re-Delivery
A delivery may be considered unsuccessful where the driver cannot
safely access or unload at the delivery location.
A failed delivery may occur where:
- The delivery address is incorrect or incomplete.
- The customer is unavailable when attendance is required.
- Access gates are locked or inaccessible.
- The site is not prepared for delivery.
- The ground is unsafe, unstable or unsuitable.
- The access route is narrower than described.
- Overhead obstacles prevent safe unloading.
- Vehicles, equipment or materials obstruct the delivery area.
- The customer requests an unapproved change in placement.
Where delivery cannot be completed because of customer-provided
information, customer unavailability or unsuitable site conditions, the
delivery may need to be rescheduled after the issue is corrected. Any
additional re-delivery charge must be disclosed and agreed before the
new delivery is arranged.
10. Inspection at Delivery
Customers should inspect the shipping container at the time of
delivery where reasonably possible.
Any visible concern should be reported promptly to Steel Box
Containers. The report should include:
- The customer’s name and order information.
- A written description of the concern.
- Clear photographs or video showing the affected area.
- The date on which the container was delivered.
Used shipping containers may display marks, scratches, fading, dents,
previous repairs, surface corrosion, repainting and other cosmetic
signs of previous use.
Cosmetic wear consistent with the advertised grade or condition of a
used container is not necessarily a defect. This does not limit any
rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Container Positioning
The customer should identify the intended placement location and door
direction before the delivery vehicle arrives.
Placement is subject to safe access, vehicle capability, unloading
equipment and the driver’s assessment of the site.
Precise placement cannot be guaranteed where access, ground
conditions, surrounding structures or safety requirements prevent the
container from being positioned exactly as requested.
Once the container has been unloaded and the delivery vehicle has
left the site, moving or repositioning the container requires a
separate transport arrangement.
12. Risk, Ownership and Customer Responsibility
Any transfer of risk is subject to the customer’s agreed order terms
and any rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Unless the agreed order terms state otherwise, risk is intended to pass
after the container has been successfully delivered and unloaded at the
agreed delivery location.
Unless otherwise stated in the agreed order terms, ownership of the
container is intended to pass after all amounts properly payable for the
container and agreed related services have been paid in full.
After delivery, the customer is responsible for the container’s
security, maintenance, insurance and lawful use.
The customer is also responsible for obtaining any approvals or
permissions required for the placement, modification or use of the
container.
13. Changes to Delivery Details
Customers must contact us as soon as possible when requesting a
change to the delivery address, contact information, preferred
delivery date, site instructions or container placement.
Changes requested after transport has been scheduled or after the
container has been dispatched may not be possible and may require a
new delivery date.
Requested changes remain subject to confirmation and may require the
delivery to be rescheduled.
14. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Shipping Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any
consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded
under the Australian Consumer Law.
Products and delivery services supplied to eligible consumers come
with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer
Law.
If we are unable to supply a paid product or delivery service within
the agreed timeframe or within a reasonable time, the customer should
contact us so that an appropriate solution can be considered in
accordance with applicable law.
Statutory Rights
This Shipping Policy operates in addition to, and does not replace,
rights and remedies provided by the Australian Consumer Law.
